Dr. Pissy's wife has a little black mop of a dog named Fancy. Mrs. Pissy is never without her.
Yesterday one of Dr. Pissy's staff was out, so Mrs. Pissy came in to help. And, of course, she brought Fancy.
Fancy spent most of the time trapped in the break room, but during lunch was allowed to roam the office since there weren't any patients.
After she was cooped up again I brought my 1:00 back, and gave him directions. "Go on back, 2nd room on the right, have a seat and I'll be with you in a sec" (I wanted to get a Diet Coke).
So after I had a can, I headed back to my office. The patient was standing in the hallway.
"Uh, doc, do you know there's a pile of dog shit in your office?"
Well, that stinks.
ReplyDeleteahahahah
ReplyDeletelaughing to hard to respond properly!

Jaxs
"No, but if you hum a few bars I can fake it..."
ReplyDeleteJust peachy. Health codes anyone?
ReplyDeleteIsn't that against some kind of building code in a medical office? What if you had a patient allergic to animals (I am)? The dander is now in the air and I know I would have a problem. Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone has a good day!
Haaa
ReplyDeleteOops!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about health codes and people allergic to dogs too ~
Guess thats the end of Fancy being allowed in the office, or at the very least out of the office during lunchtime.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
ReplyDeleteClearly you should invite your kids in to "play" in Dr Pissy's office.
ReplyDeleteThat is wrong on so many levels!
ReplyDeleteWV: flysi
I bet you wish Fancy would Flysi
home never to return.
My dentist brings his dog to work quite a bit, too. The dog is real friendly and well behaved, but I wonder about whether a non-assistance dog should be in any type of health facility. I asked the staff about it and they said they had never had any complaints and the dog actually was a HUGE help in calming patients who are afraid of being at the dentist's office.
ReplyDeleteWhat a horrible way for a patient to find his room!
ReplyDeleteI had three therapy dogs and we visited many healthcare facilities. The proper dogs and handlers can safely visit healthcare facilities with remarkable results.
Due to the presents left by Fancy, I don't think she would do well as a therapy dog.
Sure, blame it on the dog-that is the oldest game in town.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Mrs. Pissy should've take the dog for a walk during her lunch break. Just a thought. I hope they aren't the type of family that just lets the dog poop wherever in their home and laughs it off. Guess it could have been worse. It could have been dog pee.
ReplyDeleteCrate training is a Very Good Thing.
ReplyDelete"Animals, including birds and reptiles, shall not be kept within the pharmacy and in immediate adjacent areas...."
ReplyDeleteTexas Pharmacy Rules 291.33 (b) (F)
We got funny rules down here, y'all. And this is in addition to whatever the Health Dept. has......
WOW. Hopefully it was a long time patient and not a new one... I wonder if that little dog will be going missing anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteThat's Klassy. Yes, Klassy with a "K."
Thanks for the laugh today.
Thanks to Dr. G. and all the people that left funny comments. I had an AWFUL day at work and needed a really good laugh. You may be anonymous, but are so appreciated! Thank you for helping me retain what small shred of sanity I have remaining.
ReplyDeletejust another crappy day in the office?
ReplyDeleteAs far as animals in the office are concerned, some years back, I was working in a raised floor engineering office. This office had a lot of mice and rats hanging around, sometimes coming out into the work area to grab food and defecate on keyboards, etc. I brought in a few pet snakes of types native to the area, released them, and let them eat the problems, after which I was able to catch them and return them to the wild. The company thought I was crazy, but I got the needed results.
ReplyDeleteNote to the poster who thanked you for the small shred of sanity left: A lot of companies will overlook some degree of insanity as long as one gets the work done. I am certifiably nuts, but I get my projects done ahead of schedule, which is what my clients want.
I'd say that was the dog's last day in the office. He just "piles" on too much work..
ReplyDeletedogs should stay outside whether it's the home or the office.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think the only fair thing to do would be for YOU to take a kaka in Dr. Pissy's office.
ReplyDeletethat is TOO funny!talk about a shitty visit to the doctor!
ReplyDeleteStarted thinking of how you might have answered in a "Larry David/Curb your Enthusiam" world:
ReplyDeleteA:"You passed the test"
B:"Oh, so thats what that smell was"
C:"When did your hallucinations start?"
...
Maybe a name change in order? Dr. Poopy?
ReplyDeleteTherapy dogs are totally legitimate and all of them shed dander no matter where they are....not that Mrs. -Dr. Prissy's dog was a therapy dog....so denying dogs in non-animal areas is impossible (covered by Americans with Disabilities act). However, these days, anyone can buy a vest off of E-bay and call their fecal happy dog a therapy dog....totally cheapening the whole thing BTW.
What I hate is perfume, which is never really banned and then that nicotine smell that permeates the entire room and patient when someone is a smoker.
Thanks for the steaming pile of LOL this morning. What a hoot! We had a patient who cut her finger once and came in with said finger inside of a lime. We treated her. About 2 weeks later a patient pointed out that we had fruit under the desk. Nothing cleaner than the county Health Department.
