I used to sing that song to my children. Plus my favorite Sesame Street song - "School, I Love School." They bitterly resented it. I should have been more careful - they are going to pay for my care when I am old and feeble.
Poor Mrs. Grumpy has to deal with those snot nosed kids again soon (and those teachers who send them down for rediculous reasons)!! My sister is a second grade teacher and holey God those kids sound annoying as hell!! "Teacher, Teacher!! Joey called me a poo poo head!" No thanks, I'll stick with a career in medicine!
I had mine raised and was enjoying the solitude when all of a sudden my 8-year-old granddaughter becomes my full-time responsibility since this April! YAY-me-not, I'm tired...
This year I can identify...its definitely the most glorious time of the year! It was when mine went back, too!
By coincidence - just before comming your website I was reading an online story that with school budgets in crisis, the school shopping lists now request cleaning/janitorial supplies! Back to School? Bring Your Own Toilet Paper
One of my fave commercials too. Too bad I don't feel the same way about college starting up again - the first week driving round campus is always a disaster.
I am counting down the hours.... Have one starting 6th grade, one in 2nd grade and one starting pre-k this year. I will only have the 2 year old at home. Oh, the quite I will have! Till 2pm anyway :p
Love those Staples commercials. They always hit the nail on the head.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait, either. 'Cause for the first time in 8 years, I won't have a kid at home. Yeah!
This always makes me LMAO! Haven't had kids in school for many years--but, the memories....ah, the memories! :-)) CP

ReplyDeleteI'm not very excited to go back to school this fall myself. Aren't I getting to be too old for this sort of nonsense?

I dont like it when the kids are in school, it gives the parents more time to pester me to see if their vicodins have been OK'd yet.
