Patient quote of the day

"I worry constantly about my son. I always have, for my entire life. Ever since I was born, I've worried about him. And I'm 38 years old now. That's 38 years of worrying about a 10 year old."

  4. I was going to say, maybe she could ease up what with the 28 extra years, but then I realized she probably needs to stockpile them in case she dies before he does...

  9. For the record, I've always been a huge worrywart, and while I didn't start at birth, I think I was about nine or ten years old the first time I started fretting about my future children (paying for them, keeping them away from drugs, etc... Yes, I was nine. I watched too much TV), who weren't born for almost 20 years after that.

That said, I'm pretty sure this woman is just dumb.

  10. My Heavens! That's worrying! Why did she not worry about her son before she was born? Obviously not a proper mum!

Wish we has some of your patients Dr. Grumpy! Your workplace appears a hoot!

  12. I am honestly amazed at how you can manage to keep a straight face at hearing something like this. My every instinct would be to correct her.
