Mary is trying to quit smoking.
Therefore, DO NOT, under any circumstances, give her attitude.
If you do, we at Grumpy Neurology, P.C., cannot be held responsible for anything she may do to you. And believe me, you don't want to find out.
Any attempts to give Mary attitude are at your own risk. So don't say I didn't warn you.
Good for Mary! I am glad to hear she is joining the ranks of the nonsmokers.
ReplyDeleteHugs and smiles to Mary!
Hooray for Mary. She needs some chocolate to help her fight the battle. I'm cheering for her. (BTDT)
ReplyDeleteI feel her pain. I found nicotine patches very helpful - if she's looking like she might actually kill someone, you could always sneak one onto her arm under the guise of a supportive pat.
ReplyDeleteTell Mary good for her. I quit too - June 1st was the twentieth anniversary. Quitting was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. But well worth it now.
ReplyDeleteRock on, Mary!
ReplyDeleteYou know, this strikes me as a good approach to life: whenever someone gives you attitude, just say to yourself, "They're probably just trying to quit smoking." Even if it's not true, it will make you feel better.
ReplyDelete:-)
My best to Mary! And no, no one better mess with her.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Mary. I am rooting for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Mary who also quit smoking after trying it a half dozen times. Even if it doesn't work this time, the next time will improve her chances. Use EVERY crutch at your disposal. I used patches and occasionally chewed nicotine gum during the first weeks. This is turning into such a smoke free world and that does make it easier. It's an awful process but it does get better. Eventually. I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteMary ~ if I can do it, SO CAN YOU!!! I'll be rooting for you ~~~
ReplyDeletego mary go
ReplyDeleteGo Mary!! And if anyone gives you grief, give it straight back xx
ReplyDeleteGood for Mary. She has my permission to put the smack down on anyone who messes with her. :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go Mary!
ReplyDeleteFriends of mine have a holiday home accesible by speedboat, which they christened the 'six pack'. Why? Because all the money from their six pack/day smoking habit was redirected towards paying off the loan on the speedboat.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteI've always heard that quitting smoking is the perfect excuse for being a raging asshole.
ReplyDeleteSo make the most it, Mary.
Good luck, Mary! Another person rooting for you! You are important, and the world needs to have you around for a long time yet!
ReplyDeleteI say let 'er at 'em. It would probably make her feel better and if they are giving her guff they probably deserve it!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Mary, You can Doo Eeet!!
I used the book, it was outstanding! I didn't want to quit...at all, but by the last page, I was done.
ReplyDeleteWeight gained: 0 lbs.
Fits thrown: 0
It was way easier than I ever thought. I won't advertise the book here, you can find it!
Well, for heaven's sake don't fire her too many times while she's quitting smoking, Dr. Grumpy! We'd miss your blog after she leaves you in a shallow grave somewhere.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Mary!
GO MARY!
ReplyDeletebeware, the reps may throw her a loosie to get to you like a thief tosses the pit bull a steak
ReplyDeleteI don't know why you make such a big deal out of it. Its easy to quit. I've done it lots of times.
ReplyDeleteGood for Mary. Now send her after the doc who was too darn good to clean up if he made a mess on the floor, thinking the low lifes of the hospital should do it!!! I would find that facinating...have her do rounds with you. Oh i am sitting here laughing at what could happen, after all, she is trying to quit smoking!!!
ReplyDeleteI was in a class where they had a person come in and talk about quiting smoking, and she informed us that withdrawals from tobacco only lasts 72 hours, I can barely get past a half a day, but I'm trying, so I know how she feels. Nicotene patches make me vomit and the gum gives me a headache, so it's just cold turkey for me each time. Good luck to her.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Mary!!!
ReplyDeleteYaaaay Mary! You can do it! The patch and gum are your friends. Having your first cup of coffee while you're already at work, not at home with a cigarette, is also your friend.
ReplyDeleteI quit last summer with the help of a tobacco cessation LPN. That's not all she does, but she's very well educated on the subject. She kept me on the patch for 12 weeks, and it worked. It's been almost a year.
YAAAAAYYYYYYY, MARY!!!! WAAAAHOOOOOO!!! YIPPPEEE!!!!! You go girl! (no disrespect intended, mind you) I quit several years ago and I feel SO much better now!! Think of all you will save! I am so excited for you! Praying for your success and patience with the dimwitted. :)
ReplyDeleteGo Mary! Go Mary! Go Mary!
ReplyDeletecheers,
