Anticipation

Dr. Grumpy: "So the meningioma has been stable on MRI for 10 years now. It should still be followed, but not as often. I'll check a repeat study in 5 years if nothing changes."

Mrs. Ocd: "So, another MRI in 2015?"

Dr. Grumpy: "Yeah."

Mrs. Ocd: (whips out iPhone): "Can I do a Tuesday afternoon?"

  1. If I could be sure of being here in 2015 I would gladly accept an appointment on any day of the week.
Those OCD's are something else, aren't they?

  2. My partner gets annoyed when people call it OCD. She insists it should be called CDO due to that being in alphabetical order....

  3. We have BORING folks at my office. In fact, they rarely come in and most contact is via telephone or email and yes, sometimes via snail-mail or overnight express. We have to work around their schedule and many times bend over backwards to accommodate their schedule as some of them are located in another state or country.

I don't think I would know how to respond if someone in our office said something like that. What did you tell her and were you able to do it with a straight face?

Dang, your office gets to have all the fun.

  6. Good Grief, I don't know what I'm going to be doing in the next 15 minutes much less in 5 years. I'll admit I'm a tad jealous of(horrified by)organizational skills like that...
