Jack (our resident ADD dog) and Hyde (the grand-dog we are babysitting) say Happy New Years to all the doggy families! Well, Hyde would if we could get him out of the swimming pool.....
Hail to all dog owners who rescue! We have two and they are the best dogs we have ever had. I don't know how that happened but it is true. One kind of reminds me of Blackdog...we named ours Lucky because we told him he won the dog lottery the day we took him home. Happy New Years Grumpy staff, Grumpy Family, to our own dear Dr. Grumpy and Grumpyites everywhere!
Foxy (white rambunctious spitz) would probably want to wish everyone a spunky new year. That gal does her darnedest to keep her humans in line, but they just keep on testing her patience.
Happy New Year Dr. Grumpy, Grumpy Doggies, and Grumpyites everywhere! The doggie pics were the perfect way to start off the new year. Thanks for sharing!
I have a Cooper also. He was a semi-rescue. He is a whippet mix and the guy I got him from had him in a condo crated for 12+ hours a day. He had behavior problems (uhh ya think? I would too if you put me in a crate that long) Needless to say, he is the best dog I have ever owned. I love to hear my 2 year old scream, "It's COOPER DOG! Hi Cooper" 500 times a day. And the dog looks at me as if to say, please rescue me from this child. He deserves doggy sainthood.
I was reading your archive I just wanted to tell you that I love the name Blackdog. My parents are the proud owners of three cats with somewhat similar names- Spotty Kitty, White Kitty, and Momma Kitty. Also their medium dog (out of three) is name Biggie. Go figure. Also your crazy patients have made me ponder how my neurologist sees me.
Dog people are the best!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to Cooper, Snowball, Blackdog and the tribe!
BTW, you rock for going in for Mr. Ictal.
You didn't name Cooper after Happy Hospitalist's Grey Hound did you?
ReplyDeleteERP- Hell no. I didn't even know he also had a Cooper until another reader told me.
ReplyDeleteYou have 6 dogs? My dream!
ReplyDeleteStill working on accustoming the husband to one, but hopefully we'll be able to get more eventually....
OldMDGirl- no, I have 3. Only the last pic are mine. The rest belong to my staff, Annie and Mary.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year from Henry, who is currently in bed shredding a stick he brought in from outside.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I pictured Blackdog being more... black?
ReplyDeleteGinger and Sassy also wish to add their "Happy New Year"! (and the cat, Spooky, too).
ReplyDeleteMJH- we didn't name that one. Came to us at age 4, with the name already.
ReplyDeleteThe other 2 were rescue dogs, and no one knew their original names, if they had any.
May we all have a happy, prosperous, healthy New Year! (bark! bark! bark!)

ReplyDeleteIs Cooper a Shih Tzu? He looks just like my old dog, Gizmo, who had a good 14 year run.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you & your staff as well. Looking forward to another year of crazy neuro patient tales...

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteDan- Yes, he is.
ReplyDeleteSnowball is (allegedly) a Lhasa-Poo.
Blackdog is unknown. The vet has guessed a "collie mix", but no one really knows.

ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you and the Grumpy doggies :) They're all such a bunch of cuties!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year :D
ReplyDeleteHey Grumps...you could always get a doggy DNA test for Blackdog :) Rex would like to send his New Year's wishes from our family to yours!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year from Bella and O'Riley!
ReplyDeleteWhat? No yaks?
ReplyDeleteI think Blackdog may have some Pointer in his (her?) background.
ReplyDeleteToby, Peggy Sue, and Wiglet send their wishes to all the dogs of Grumpy Neurology.

Marco (the 20# cat)
Happy New Year from my dog Blue (German Shepherd).
ReplyDeleteAw so cute! Happy New Year Dr. Grumpy!
ReplyDeleteuhhh...Dr G. Your Cooper looks overweight...just sayin
ReplyDeleteQueen of Crafts- Cooper just had a bath the day before this pic was taken, so was all fluffy. He's actually average for a Shih-Tzu (12 pounds).
ReplyDeleteHe's 25% hair, 10% teeth, 5% muscle, and 60% attitude.
Annie has an advanced case of cute. Probably terminal.
