Well, just as my day began with a strange marketing survey question, apparently it's going to end that way. I'm doing one tonight over the internet, and this question came up:
"When managing a male or female MS patient who wishes to become pregnant, what action do you typically take with their current MS medication?"
I suspect that what they really mean is "a male or female MS patient who is trying to have a child."
ReplyDeleteAin't English great?
well, if it's a male patient wishing to become pregnant, you tell them to continue to medication and hope for a miracle, right?
ReplyDeleteI would advise the male to follow through with the psych referral I am giving him.
ReplyDeleteI would, as a nurse, gently explain to the male patient where babies come from. Then I would go find a doctor for a psych consult.
ReplyDeleteEstrogen. Lots and lots of estrogen.
ReplyDeleteRefer them to one of those surgeons who does gender reassignment. And leave the dosage as it is :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is just the logical progression from stupid comments like "we're trying to get pregnant" or the announcement "we're pregnant." At times I try to point out to the man the biological impossibility of his statement, other times I just roll my eyes.
ReplyDeleteIf it was a male, I'd probably say "Alert the media". LOL
