Dear Mr. Goldman,
We are sorry about your wife's death last year. She was a kind woman.
However, asking my staff if they'd like to see a picture of you together, and then showing the girls one of you standing by her gravestone, is somewhat misleading about the picture's contents.
Grumpy!
ReplyDeleteThe poor guy thinks you're all interested....because you made him believe you cared. Don't let him down, now! And why shouldn't you remember someone you tried so hard to help? A patient dying is not the tragedy....a patient dying without care/caring is the tragedy.
I spent 9 hours Saturday reading all your blog entries from the beginning (you got better after the first month or so)...the garden didn't get any attention whatsoever. I LOVE the entry about Mrs. Grumpy and the ice cream eating contest!
Love this blog...I think it's my favorite or tied with M.D.O.D.
Liz, my point wasn't that I don't care about Mr. Goldman. I do. I like him, and he brings my office girls a pie at each visit.
ReplyDeleteMy point is that if someone says "Would you like to see a picture of my wife and I?" You generally expect a picture of 2 people, not 1 person and a headstone.
Sounds like Mr. Goldman has a sense of humor to me. :D
ReplyDeleteOK, I guess I misread your post....
ReplyDeleteBut now I just think Mr. Goldman has a pretty great sense of humor!
That's either funny or pathetic, I'm not sure which.
ReplyDelete"Wow, that's your wife? She looks kinda stoned..."
