Scarlett was kind enough to send me this picture, which she says was taken in a doctor's office in the building where she works.
Except for the bottled water (maybe it's for the office staff?) I'd have to say this is a physician after my own heart. There's enough Diet Coke and Coke Zero there to hold me for at least 45 minutes.
Someone should do a research based on the fact that physicians are addicted to Diet Coke. I am addicted to Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper.
ReplyDeleteAnd every physician I know is hooked on to Diet Coke.
Aspartame deluxe!
ReplyDeleteI am voting for an IV infusion of coca cola...fully leaded and all the sugar please. One coke on the way to the golf course, and one coke about 930 am on a work day.
ReplyDeleteMy drug of choice.
It's not just physicians. It's also military folk as well! When I was in the military, the office I dealt with dealt directly with aircrew on one of the cargo planes. There would be many hissyfits thrown if the Flight Kitchen was out of Diet Coke and failed to tell the aircrew this when they ordered their meals. It got so bad they finally had to put in a Diet Coke update board. A little whiteboard in Base Ops that would announce whether Diet Coke was out or not.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with Diet Coke? It's the only soda I will drink.
I'm a pharmacist that drinks a ton of Diet Coke and Coke Zero. Once in the grocery store, with 4 2L bottles, 4 6-packs of 24 oz bottles, and 4 cases of 12oz cans, I got a chuckle and was asked by some random guy if I was stockpiling for a disaster.
ReplyDelete"Nope - this will last me a week or so."
I would have to say this extends to the profession of pharmacy as well. I am far more envious of that stash of diet Coke than is really appropriate.
ReplyDeleteYou like coke zero as well? I can't stand the taste. We're going from a mini fridge to a full size fridge in a few weeks in my office and I cannot wait. Already have the diet cokes to fill it with.
ReplyDeletewell..how about us pharmacists addicted to coffee.. a retail pharmer..that is sarcasm for pharmacist..
ReplyDeletei am a regular coca cola addict myself! was just wondering if your ever have any problems with your kidneys? any bladder problems or urinary tract infections from drinking so many cokes. Ever since i had to have a foley inserterted i usually get a uti from drinking to many cokes and not enough water. "tmi" i know but couldn't help but to ask.
ReplyDeleteI bought a mini fridge, just for coke..let me tell you it is stocked well. (love whey the local store has it for 1.99, a 12 pack) I really stock up. however, I do keep coke zero and diet coke for company. won't do withut my coke. Keep a bottle with me at work, at all times. Have an open can on my nightstand. WON'T GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT IT.
ReplyDelete@DrPublicHealth. Agreed. There is a very high prevalence of Diet Coke addiction in Physicians. The only problem is the number of rest room trips it induces. One solution is to buy an espresso machine and get your ration of caffeine hot and concentrated rather than cold and dilute.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Now I know what to get me doc for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI miss my Diet Coke..at ten days post-tonsillectomy,it's the one thing I wish my ENT would give the ok to start drinking again!
