Live! from Dr. Grumpy's office! In real time!
As I am typing this (they think I'm working on the chart) the couple across from me is actually fighting- and I mean swearing, cursing, and yelling at each other- over WHICH OF THEM DRINKS THE MOST WATER EACH DAY!!!
I bet that I drink more water than both of them.
ReplyDeletePeople do the weirdest things...
This kind of crap happens surprisingly often.
ReplyDeleteSomedays I wonder if the directory downstairs lists me as a marital counselor.
That's hilarious. I wonder if they fight about real stuff too, or if they are paradoxically on the same page regarding money and kids.
ReplyDeleteOh, and way to go for the surreptitious blogging from the office!
Never done it before. Don't think they even noticed.
ReplyDeleteGoing live!
Twitter Feed?!!?!?
ReplyDeleteOh man, this is the first, and so far, only post of yours I've ever read and I already know I'm going to like your blog. Bookmarked.
ReplyDeleteI think I might love you even more than The Angry Pharmacist...
ReplyDeleteEh, but no one is going to really look at the twitter feed and respond. It's a lot easier to get a good readership and more responses through blogging...this one (since ~2 months ago [I think]) is on my permanent read list, alongside TAP and the rest of the Rx world.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I do a bit of med reconciliation (the closest to intern work that I can do, no clinical stuff for me, yet), and I talk to many of the newly admitted patients about their medication history. Dr. Grumpy gets stuck as the marriage counselor...I get people complaining about insurance, people wondering why they're still on a medication, people who have no idea what medication they're taking, people who look up drugs on the internet and find that they have some minor ADE and want to stop the drug immediately, people who change the sig on their own...the list goes on and on. But being their physician, I'd assume you get some of that too!
Thank you all! I'm actually flattered!
ReplyDeleteRx Intern: Yes. People sometimes think we are the information booth.
Wow. Marital disharmony ought to help heal any neurological disorder, eh?
ReplyDeleteDid they ask for an Rx for their respective migraines before they left...?
