More Stupidity

Ok, gang, I just had to post this link. This is amazing. A woman who called 911 because she couldn't figure out how to open her own car FROM THE INSIDE!!!

Check it out!

  2. My mother-in-law did the same thing many years ago. Her electrical system died while she was in the car and she couldn't unlock the door. She freaked. It was pre-cell phone era, so she waved someone down in the parking lot who then called the police for her. When the police arrived, they asked her to pull up on the door lock stick and she stepped out.

  5. The best ones are those where the person doesn't look so stupid, like the case of a neighbor.

Said neighbor was driving her father's car, which sounds innocent enough until you realize her father was well into his 60's (maybe 70's) and she was well into her 40's.

It was the pinnacle of old man cars: automatic everything including safety features.
One of which deserves honorable mention: the one that locks the doors when in drive and disengages in park.

She pulls into the driveway and puts it into park, supposedly, and tries to get out. Door won't open, so she tries the passenger side and the two back doors.
Nothing opening but the sense of rising panic (hot day in Colorado).

So she's in the car and trying to flag down someone to help and the neighbors think she's waving at them and wave back and a dog walker or two pass by...same thing.
    (car was heavily sound proofed)

I forget if she called or her father arrived on scene but "put it into park, again" was uttered and the audible click of the locks was heard.

Of course "Who the heck thought that was a good idea?" was uttered.

The father just leaned her forward and kissed her on the forehead in a "my poor stupid child" kind of way.
