Read a book that spoke about the giant waves that we don't see or hear about but are everywhere and unexplained. It was a great read: "The Wave: In Pursuit of the Rogues, Freaks, and Giants of the Ocean."Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00799468378319621268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883634615775822475.post-42594671432093199752012-08-01T16:25:12.499-04:002012-08-01T16:25:12.499-04:00MILITARY HSTORY IS GREAT.

T...A Mongolian yak herder whose heart is at sea...

Thanks for reminding us of a time when the water was a major route of transportation between continents. The father of one of my friends died on a ship in Lake Superior, and I've been reading recently about the Erie Canal system, and how major highways were built right along the canal paths when they closed because of the convenience of not having to negotiate for individual rights-of-ways.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883634615775822475.post-36739762665343798202012-07-28T13:56:19.059-04:002012-07-28T13:56:19.059-04:00Thanks for another interesting story Dr. Grumpy. ...Thanks for another interesting story Dr. Grumpy. It's kind of scary that we live on a planet that is mostly water and yet we have so little idea how our water systems work and what lives within them. And the funding for that is getting slashed now as with NASA, and it's just a fraction of our tax dollars. So very, very sad.Moosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10397412122635951126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883634615775822475.post-60552545726765358152012-07-28T11:05:33.779-04:002012-07-28T11:05:33.779-04:00Great story Dr.GGreat story Dr.Glynda thomas shellnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883634615775822475.post-44909629634725132012-07-28T09:39:04.534-04:002012-07-28T09:39:04.534-04:00Wow!
