Okay, gang, from last month's news: firefighters in Germany locked down a street out of concern that two 6 year old kids had actually built a working nuclear reactor from an old computer casing!
They were just a couple kids, having a little fun. After all of this attention, wonder if this is a turning point in their young lives? I'm picturing a young Dr. Evil with a light bulb going off in his evil brain.
Some days I’m so sick of patient shenanigans, the stupidity of insurance companies, and just the daily insanity of this field that I write this blog as my gripe forum.
I’m a neurologist, and although I practice in an upscale suburban area, I sometimes seem to attract some remarkably “special” folks. I have no idea why. It just seems that weird crap happens to me or my patients. So this is where I vent about it.
My stories are true. The names, minor details, and dates of occurrence have been changed to protect the irritating. Some posts are composites.

Anybody heard about David Hahn a.k.a. "The Radioactive Boy Scout" . As an adolescent he collect a surprising amount of radioactive material from various sources and attempted to build a breeder reactor. The potting shed in his mom's back yard ended up as a superfund site. The book about his exploits, The Radioactive Boy Scout: The Frightening True Story of a Whiz Kid and His Homemade Nuclear Reactor ,was an amusing read.
